This book tries to awake a curiosity about the Northern Netherlands, a region little known outside The Netherlands and even within the country often receiving less attention than its distinctive cultural, economic and political geographies deserve. It does so in 24 short chapters. The authors are all linked to the Faculty of Spatial Sciences of the University of Groningen, located in the heart of the region. The choice of language and of basic description, assuming little foreknowledge, makes the book very accessible to 'outsiders', but insiders well versed in some of the topics covered will discover unexpected relevance as well.
In Planning presents this PhD publication as an ebook.
