We are pleased to announce the launch of In-planning biannual open-access journal, ArabiCities planning: ARCPLAN.

ARCPLAN is a pioneer peer-reviewed bi-lingual journal that engages debates and
discussions on the City Planning and Design in the Arab world, and makes these debates available to the international planning audience.



Each volume should include:

  • 3-4 peer-reviewed articles
  • 1-2 Essays (from practice and cross disciplinary perspective)
  • 1-2 Book & PhD reviews
  • 1-2 media documentary (short film, poster, set/ photos ...)

ARCPLAN presents a core publication for scholars interested in the city planning theory, practice, methodology, and general knowledge as well as architecture, urban design, landscape, arts, geography and sociology.

ARCPLAN invites authors interested in the exploration of the city in the Arab world to submit original works that include both empirical and theoretical research; definition and evaluation of boundaries of planning in the region, as well as aesthetic and visual representation of "Arabic Cities".

All manuscript submissions to ARCPLAN should be sent as an attachment to the following email address:
